I’m an AUNTIE!

After two+ years of seemingly nothing but death and cancer, this delivery yesterday was a much welcome, and needed, addition to our family!

My sister had this little girl yesterday, red hair and all, and I am succumbed with joy and hope. Last evening after spending most of the day with my family and the little one, I thought about how deeply this has already changed me. I have more love for her than I could imagine, and I think I withheld being too excited for her arrival, for fear that something would go wrong, as has been the case far too often for our family. While she was stubborn and breach, leading to a C section, everything went perfectly, and both she, Mom & Dad are well.

I think about what it would mean if I too had an addition like that in my life, and it’s still in comprehensible to me at this point in my life, and may remain that way. Wherever my future leads, I am so glad to be a part of this special girl’s life, the first grandchild of our family, and a child who is an essential blessing that we all needed.

May your light shine little one.

  2. Congratulations! I love being an auntie! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. I’m super happy for your whole family and the joy Elena is bringing!

  3. Hmmmmm… She is really a PRETTY baby! Mine looked like shrunken coneheads for a few days, first! C-Section babies are often prettier! But of course, it’s all in the eye of the beholder. My first statement when my daughter was born, “It’s a BABY!” Very profound…You will be a great Auntie! Auntie’s are very important to children!

  4. Awww! So cute!!
