1 Day

I am officially less than 24 hours away from my TRUE vacation. I am so excited. However, this is also the first big trip I’m taking without Kev, to a place Kev would have loved. That stings a lot, but at the same time, because we have no memories there, I know I will be able to truly enjoy the trip and hopefully get some R&R!

I am feeling MUCH better today. I can breathe through both nostrils, but the cough is still there. The anti-biotics are DEFINITELY helping, so I’m very glad about that. I’m enjoying my morning blogging at prince street cafe before getting my hair done and running some last minute errands.

Continue to pray for my triple J cancer squad, for my family (both here and in Canada) and for my safe travels and solace.

Brenda Lee Sieglitz is an author and public speaker whose topics focus on travel, grief, and nature. Widowed in 2008 at 24 years of age, Brenda is an advocate for sarcoma patients, the widowed community, and conservation through her volunteerism with the National Park Service, Lancaster County Conservancy, Pennsylvania Master Naturalist, Hospice of Lancaster County, Soaring Spirits International, Angiosarcoma Awareness and Highmark Caring Place. In her spare time, she adores playing with her two nieces, going on family adventures with her husband, stepdaughter and son-in-law, hiking, camping and is working to complete her bucket list dream of visiting all National Park units. Sieglitz has been married to her best friend Dave since 2013 and continues to reside in Lancaster County with their two beagles Scotch and Fina.

    Get a box of protective surgical masks at the drug store to wear on the plane. I’m flying to Chicago on the 10th and plan to wear one. Might look odd, but I really don’t want to take any germs to my 90-year-old mom…or bring any back!
